Ok this is a good one! Every year right around this time (right before back to school) I get into an organizing frenzy. It hasn’t started quite yet with all the vacations and unpacking, but it’s about to happen. One thing I HAVE done, besides grab all the school supplies, is purchase this Room Essentials Over-the-Door Shoe Organizer. Nowwww it’s not just for shoes, bestie.
So step one here is get the actual closet situated. Take out all the old jackets and backpacks, and any other junk you don’t need that’s causing clutter. Once you have this clean slate, pop open the shoe organizer. You will need to insert the over the door hooks through the three holes at the top and hang on the door. We hang ours in our main floor on the back of the main coat closet. This is easy access for everyone on those crazy hectic mornings during the school year. Once it has been placed on the door the next step is to choose what items you will put on each row.
The top row for us are the hair brushes, hair ties (who can ever find them if they aren’t always in one place, hair detangler, rosemary hair spray (wards off lice), a lint roller (my daughter cannot stand lint on her clothes) and any packages of new items that need to be on deck. I have a pair of new tights up in the corner in this pick. We have moved these items lower in the past so the girls can grab the brushes etc, but I do want to keep the sprays out of reach, so this year, they are at the top row.
The next row down from the top has the gym socks, every day socks and knee high socks. The row below that are the gym shirts, and everyday uniform shirts, and just below that are the uniform skorts, shorts and pants. The final row has all the shoes, so we won’t be in a panic trying to run out the door finding shoes.
